What is the highest package offered to a fresher in India?What are the particular type of skills they are looking for?How much do these companies offer to a fresher in India:trilogy,Google,Intel,Microsoft,Yahoo,Adobe.....Is being very strong in algorithm and programming ability enough to get place in any of these company,basically trilogy.

Interestingly enough none of teh definitions that I see from your link have the meaning that doc cited above. They all seem to really imply 1st year student...

I should say that I picked this up through many of the comments we've received during events held for India. I didn't look it up or anything I just picked it up based on context.

Well to answer your Q, it varies widely from year to year.

Cant say this is the standard but based on my knowledge for 2005 grads here are some details.

The best pay is around 8-9 Lakhs P.A (Need a lot of stuff to get that)

The better is around 5-6 Lakhs.

Note that these are the nunbers offered in campus selections.

Talking about this, I have never personally heard (or read about) Google (India) visiting any university for recruitment.
