Division Summary | Reply
Can there be a page which looks like SRM Division Summary in the arena?
Re: Division Summary (response to post by lyc1977) | Reply
great idea, i always wanted something like that.

Just found that the page I want actually exists:
http://www.topcoder.com/stat?c=round_stats_sorted&rd=9891&dn=1&sq=Round_Statistics_Data&sc=16&sd=asc
Re: Division Summary (response to post by lyc1977) | Reply
It's not really the same... it'd be nice to see the breakdown by problem, for example.

I agree, something like this would be very nice.
Admins?

Wow, this is fantastic. One suggestion: can you anchor the scores to make them point to the submitted solutions (on the TC website)? This would be handy indeed :-)
Re: Division Summary (response to post by JongMan) | Reply
I guess I'll have to make it work for other matches as well before it'll be fantastic ;-). Something like this should really be available from the TC site, IMO. But I'll see what I can do.
Re: Division Summary (response to post by dskloet) | Reply
The scores should be linking to submitted code :)

Isn't that what JongMan said?
Re: Division Summary (response to post by dskloet) | Reply
It's a valuable suggestion, now you got it from two independent sources.

Hm, I'm afraid the data feeds don't contain enough information to link to the submissions :-(. Instead I linked the handles to the room statistics from where the submissions are linked.

Hi, I just finished building a script for this:

http://felix-halim.net/tc/index.php?rd=10659

The main motivation for me to build the script is for fast and easy browsing for source codes.

If you use TopCoder's round statistics for this purpose, you will need 2 clicks before you can see any source code (that is about 1-2 minutes loading for slow connections like mine). People will get bored before they find an interesting source code :P and hesitate to browse for more source codes.

Question to admins: is it OK to use screen scrapping technique on TC webiste? (scrapping data other than from data feeds?)

We don't have any formal position on it. I suppose one could say we'll take a defensive posture. If someone does something that makes us unhappy, then we'll stop that activity. Likely, the speed and volume of requests will play a major role in making us unhappy.

Cool site!
There are some problems with encoding though, when I open Petr's code I see it as bellow (RedHat, Firefox).

using System;
public class Multifactorial {
  long INF = 1000000000000000000L;

  public string calcMultiFact(int n, int k) {
    long res = 1;
    for (int z = n; z > 0; z -= k)
    {
      if (INF / z < res)
        return "overflow";
      res *= z;
    }
    return res.ToString();
  }
}

Call me stupid, but I fail to see how your page allows for fast and easy browsing for source codes.

Edit: Oh, I guess it's double clicking the score.
And there seems to be a login problem. Do you intend to make code publicly available that's otherwise only accessible by logging in? Did dok take this into account in his answer?
